A mother hen named Dora has six little chicks. One morning, when it’s time to feed them, she discovers they are nowhere to be found. Concerned, she searches all around the barnyard. As Dora looks, she finds each chick in unexpected spots — following Penny Pig’s piglets, hiding in the hay, near Debbie Duck’s ducklings, and more. One by one she gathers them back — until there is still one chick missing. Dora’s search becomes more urgent: where could that last chick be?
Dora’s Chicks is a charming picture book for young children, combining gentle suspense with bright, friendly illustrations, and inviting little readers to count along as each chick is found.
